A leak detection system may be installed and operating continuously five, 10, 15 years before being called on to provide the earliest warning of a leak. And after all that time, the system must operate perfectly, providing positive detection of a small leak, and accuracy in the leak location. There are few systems in any facility that must perform as well as the leak detection systems, and even fewer tasked with protecting the most critical systems and equipment.

TT1000 for water detection

TraceTek sensing cable employs a unique construction. Four wires are embedded into a fluoropolymer core. The red and yellow wires are low resistance, insulated wires. The two black wires have a resistance that is precisely regulated in the manufacturing process. The black on the sensing wires is a conductive polymer (not insulation). There is no exposed metal to corrode, but, because of the conductive polymer, if water contacts both sensing wires – anywhere along the length of the sensing cable – it completes the circuit and the leak is detected.

The cable is of all fluoropolymer (Teflon-like) construction. The result is a small, flexible but rugged cable that is extremely resistant to corrosion and abrasion.

As the smooth unbraided surface leaves virtually no place to trap moisture, the system dries fast after a leak.

TT3000 for acids, bases and other hazardous fluids with water content

TraceTek sensing cable employs a unique construction. Four wires are embedded into a fluoropolymer core. The red and yellow wires are low resistance, insulated wires. There is no exposed metal to corrode, but, because of the conductive polymer, if a conductive liquid contacts both sensing wires – anywhere along the length of the sensing cable – it completes the circuit and the leak is detected.

The cable is of all fluoropolymer (Teflon-like) construction. The result is a small, flexible but rugged cable, chemically resistant and extremely resistant to corrosion and abrasion.

As the smooth unbraided surface leaves virtually no place to trap moisture, the system dries fast after a leak. The measurement circuit is not dependent upon the conductivity of the leaking fluid. Therefore, the same cable will detect a wide range of fluids without special design considerations or calibration.

TT5000 for gasoline, jet fuel, diesel, crude oil, lubricant oil and other hydrocarbon-based liquids

TraceTek TT5001 sensing cable detects the presence of liquid hydrocarbon fuels at any point along its length, yet does not react to the presence of water.
